About Major Alexander Yonemura
Maj Yonemura is from Carlsbad, CA and entered the Air Force in June 2015 through ROTC from University of California, Los Angeles. He transitioned to the Space Force in May 2020 upon its standup. Maj Yonemura primarily operated in the Orbital Warfare and Space Domain Awareness fields before joining STARCOM and supporting education. He is currently the Operations Officer of Air Force ROTC Detachment 060 at University of Southern California. He began his career at Schriever SFB, CO as a Satellite Vehicle Operator with a follow-on assignment to Eglin AFB, FL as the Operations Flight Commander. Prior to his current position, Maj Yonemura held the roles of Executive Officer and Deputy Director of Professional Partnership Education, Space Delta 13, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. In this position Maj Yonemura supported the historic base transition of Space Delta 13 from Maxwell AFB, AL to be the first Space Force unit on Joint Base Andrews, MD. Maj Yonemura also helped develop foundational education documents that revolutionize how Guardians learn and established partnerships with academia, industry, and interagency organization to evolve Space Force education.
